Description
Competa CUG4BG Standard Bottle Gully for 110mm Underground Drainage
The
Competa CUG4BG standard bottle gully is a practical trapped fitting for compatible underground drainage installations. This
110mm roddable bottle gully is designed to collect surface water and suitable external waste discharge before directing it into the below-ground drainage system. The
180mm bottle gully top provides a useful collection area while the removable grid allows access for inspection and cleaning. Designed as a
standard bottle gully without a separate back inlet, it provides a straightforward drainage solution for patios, rainwater points and external waste outlets. The fitting can also provide useful maintenance access as an
underground drainage bottle gully.
Competa CUG4BG Standard Bottle Gully
The
Competa CUG4BG standard bottle gully is the straightforward version of the Competa bottle gully range and is designed without the additional rear inlet found on the CUG4BGBI model. It provides a trapped drainage point for collecting water through the top opening and directing it towards compatible underground drainage pipework.
110mm Roddable Bottle Gully
The
110mm roddable bottle gully is intended for connection into compatible 110mm underground drainage systems and provides useful access for inspection, cleaning and maintenance. External gullies can collect leaves, silt and other debris over time, so keeping the gully accessible makes routine cleaning easier and helps maintain unrestricted water flow.
180mm Bottle Gully
The
180mm bottle gully specification refers to the approximate diameter of the upper section recorded for this product on Speedy Plastics. The round top creates a useful surface water collection point while maintaining a compact footprint for typical domestic and trade drainage installations. Where replacing an existing gully, check the available space and surrounding finished level before installation.
Standard Bottle Gully
A
standard bottle gully is useful where water enters primarily through the top grid and an additional rear inlet is not required. This makes the CUG4BG suitable for simple drainage layouts around rainwater downpipes, patios, paved areas and suitable external waste discharge points. If a separate rear pipe connection is required, the Competa CUG4BGBI back inlet bottle gully may be more appropriate.
Underground Drainage Bottle Gully
An
underground drainage bottle gully creates a trapped connection between the external drainage point and the below-ground pipe system. The retained water seal helps separate the external opening from the underground drainage network while allowing rainwater and suitable waste water to pass through the gully. This type of trapped fitting is commonly used around domestic properties and other suitable external drainage locations.
110mm Roddable Bottle Gully Features

Surface Water Collection
The open grid allows rainwater and surface water to enter the gully while helping to restrict larger debris from passing directly into the drainage system. Regularly clear leaves, soil and other material from the grid, particularly where the gully is positioned close to trees, gardens or landscaped areas.
Typical Applications
The CUG4BG
standard bottle gully can be used for suitable external drainage applications including:
- Rainwater downpipe drainage points
- Patios
- Garden paving
- Paths
- Yards
- External waste outlets
- Domestic drainage installations
- Extension and renovation projects
- 110mm underground drainage systems
Cleaning a Roddable Bottle Gully
The roddable design makes the gully easier to inspect and maintain. Keep the grid and gully opening accessible once the surrounding paving or landscaping has been completed. Remove accumulated leaves, silt and other debris periodically to help maintain water flow through the
110mm roddable bottle gully and into the connected underground drainage.
Standard Gully or Back Inlet Gully?
Choose this CUG4BG
standard bottle gully where the installation does not require a separate rear inlet connection. If additional pipework needs to enter through the back of the fitting, choose the CUG4BGBI back inlet roddable gully instead. Selecting the correct fitting before installation helps avoid unnecessary adaptors and provides a neater drainage layout.
Installing the Underground Drainage Bottle Gully
Establish the finished ground level and underground drainage route before permanently positioning the
underground drainage bottle gully. The fitting should be correctly supported so the top grid finishes at an accessible level with the surrounding paving or ground surface. Connect the 110mm drainage pipework before completing the surrounding backfill and check that water can flow freely through the complete system.
Using a Bottle Gully Riser
Where the bottle gully needs additional height to reach the finished surface, a compatible raising piece may be used. The Competa CUG4BGR bottle gully riser is designed for compatible installations where the main gully body sits below the required paving or ground level.
Replacement Bottle Gully Grid
If the gully body remains serviceable but the top grid becomes cracked, damaged or lost, the compatible CUG4BGSG round replacement grid may provide a simpler repair than replacing the complete gully.
