Competa CUG4BGSG bottle gully grid is a black round replacement grid for a compatible standard underground drainage bottle gully. Measuring approximately 179mm across, this
179mm bottle gully grid is ideal for replacing a cracked, damaged or missing grid without replacing the complete gully body. This
replacement bottle gully grid has an open round design that allows rainwater and suitable surface water to enter the gully while helping to reduce larger leaves, stones and general debris entering the drainage system. The
round bottle gully grid is removable for cleaning and maintenance, making it a practical
underground drainage gully grid for repair and replacement work.

Competa CUG4BGSG bottle gully grid is supplied as the grid only and is intended as a replacement top for a compatible standard bottle gully. If the existing bottle gully body and drainage connections remain in good condition, replacing only the damaged or missing grid can provide a simple and cost-effective repair.

Replacement Bottle Gully Grid
A
replacement bottle gully grid can be used where the original grid has cracked, broken or become lost while the bottle gully itself remains serviceable. Leaving a bottle gully uncovered can allow leaves, stones, soil and other debris to enter the trapped section below. Fitting the correct replacement grid helps protect the opening while still allowing rainwater and suitable surface water to flow into the drainage system.
Round Bottle Gully Grid
The
round bottle gully grid measures approximately 179mm in diameter and is designed to sit over the opening of a compatible standard bottle gully. Always measure the existing gully opening or original grid before ordering. Bottle gully grid dimensions can vary between manufacturers and product ranges even where the connected underground drainage pipework is nominally 110mm.
Underground Drainage Gully Grid
This
underground drainage gully grid is intended for use at external drainage collection points where a compatible bottle gully is already installed. Bottle gullies are commonly used to receive rainwater, surface water and suitable external waste discharge before directing the flow into the underground drainage system.

Checking the Grid Size Before Ordering
The existing Speedy Plastics specification for this product records an approximate diameter of 179mm. For the best fit, remove the existing damaged grid where possible and measure across its widest point. Alternatively, measure the supporting opening on the bottle gully itself. Do not force a grid onto an incompatible gully. Different bottle gully designs can use slightly different grid diameters and locating features.
Fitting the 179mm Bottle Gully Grid
Remove the old or damaged grid and clear loose leaves, soil and other debris from around the top of the gully. Inspect the supporting edge of the bottle gully for cracks or damage before fitting the replacement. Position the new grid evenly over the opening and check that it sits securely without excessive rocking or movement. The grid should remain removable so the bottle gully can be inspected and cleaned when required.
Maintaining a Bottle Gully Grid
Inspect the grid periodically and remove leaves, moss, soil and other material that could restrict water entering the gully. This is particularly important during autumn or where the gully is installed close to trees and vegetation. Keeping the grid and the trapped section beneath it clean helps maintain unrestricted surface water flow and reduces the amount of larger debris entering the underground drainage system.

This product is supplied as the
replacement grid only. The bottle gully body, trap, underground drainage pipe and other fittings are not included. If the existing gully body is damaged or unsuitable for reuse, a complete replacement bottle gully should be selected instead.
