Description
110mm Single Socket Bend for Underground Drainage
The
single socket bend provides a gentle 15° change of direction within compatible 110mm underground drainage pipework. The Kayflow UG28 features one push-fit ring-seal socket and one plain spigot end, allowing it to connect easily with compatible 110mm pipes and fittings. Its shallow 15° angle is ideal where only a small adjustment in pipe direction is required. The compact PVC-U fitting is designed for external gravity drainage and sewerage applications.

Where to Use the Single Socket Bend
Use this fitting where a 110mm underground drainage run requires a small change in direction. The shallow 15° angle is particularly useful for making gradual corrections to the route of the pipework without introducing a sharper bend. Typical applications include:
- Foul water drainage
- Surface water drainage
- Domestic underground drainage
- New drainage installations
- Drainage extensions
- Repairs and alterations
- Minor pipe alignment changes
15° Single Socket Bend Angle
The 15° angle is the shallowest fixed bend in the Kayflow 110mm underground drainage range. It creates a more gradual directional change than 30°, 45° or 90° bends. This can be useful where pipework needs to be brought into alignment gradually while maintaining a smooth drainage route.
Single Socket Bend Connections
The UG28 has one socketed end containing a push-fit ring seal and one chamfered plain spigot end. The socket accepts a compatible plain-ended 110mm pipe or spigot-ended fitting. The opposite plain end can be inserted directly into a compatible 110mm drainage socket. This socket-and-spigot arrangement makes it straightforward to incorporate the bend into an existing or new underground drainage run.
Installing the Single Socket Bend
Check the required drainage route, alignment and fall before installation. Pipe ends should be cut square where necessary and sharp edges or burrs removed. Inspect the socket and sealing ring to make sure they are clean and correctly positioned. Remove grit, soil or other debris before assembly. Apply a suitable underground drainage lubricant where required, then align the pipe squarely with the socket before pushing the joint together. Avoid forcing the fitting sideways during assembly because this can disturb the sealing ring.
Supporting the Single Socket Bend
Provide suitable bedding beneath the fitting and connected underground drainage pipework. The bend should form part of a properly supported system rather than carrying the weight of unsupported pipes or fittings. Maintain the required drainage gradient and inspect the joint before backfilling. Avoid placing sharp stones or rubble directly against the fitting.
Single S Bend Material and System
The Kayflow UG28 is manufactured from PVC-U and forms part of Kayflow’s lightweight and impact-resistant 110mm underground drainage system. Its push-fit socket incorporates a captive sealing ring, while the opposite end is pre-chamfered to assist installation into another compatible socket. The fitting is suitable for compatible systems manufactured to recognised underground drainage standards including BS EN 1401.
UG28 and BUG28 Single S Bend Codes
UG28 is Kayflow’s individual 15° single socket bend and is the correct manufacturer code when selling one fitting.
BUG28 is Kayflow’s bulk-pack reference for 40 bends and should not be used as the individual product MPN.
