The VIPSeal VTS150 tee saddle is the genuine manufacturer reference for the 90° DN160 lateral connection within the VIPSeal VTS/VYS saddle range. The VTS150 should not be confused with VTS100. VTS100 accepts a 110mm PVC lateral and a 160–400mm host-pipe range, while the VIPSeal VTS150 tee saddle is designed for a larger 160mm PVC lateral and 200–400mm main pipes.

90 Degree 160mm Branch Saddle

The 90 degree 160mm branch saddle creates a right-angle tee connection into the host drainage pipe. This configuration is useful where the lateral must enter the main at 90° rather than using a swept 45° branch. The 90 degree 160mm branch saddle allows a new branch to be added without removing and replacing a complete section of the existing main pipe with a conventional moulded tee.

Installing a 90 Degree 160mm Branch Saddle

Before fitting the 90 degree 160mm branch saddle, confirm the host-pipe outside diameter, pipe material, branch location and lateral size. The prepared sealing area should be clean and free from dirt, grit and damage before the saddle is positioned.

160mm PVC Tee Connection

The VTS150 is specifically designed to form a 160mm PVC tee connection. VIPSeal specifies a 160mm PVC lateral with a compatible main-pipe outside diameter range of 200–400mm. This 160mm PVC tee connection arrangement is suited to larger underground drainage branches, alterations and stormwater applications where a DN160 lateral needs to enter an existing drainage main at 90°.

The 200-400mm main pipe saddle can be applied to compatible pipes of varying wall thickness, provided the material, external profile and outside diameter meet VIPSeal’s requirements.

Selecting a 200-400mm Main Pipe Saddle

Before ordering the 200-400mm main pipe saddle, measure or confirm the host-pipe outside diameter. Nominal pipe size alone should not be relied upon where the actual external diameter is uncertain.

Smooth Wall Drainage Tee Saddle

The VTS150 is specifically designed as a smooth wall drainage tee saddle. VIPSeal lists smooth-wall PVC, concrete and vitrified clay as compatible host-pipe materials. The smooth wall drainage tee saddle should not automatically be used on ribbed, corrugated or twinwall drainage pipe because those external profiles require a different saddle design.

The smooth wall drainage tee saddle incorporates a flexible PVC saddle body with a 6mm thick, 60 Shore EPDM gasket. This allows the saddle to conform around compatible host pipes while providing the sealing interface around the prepared lateral opening.

VIPSeal specifies a flexible PVC saddle body and a 6mm, 60 Shore EPDM gasket for VTS150. The flexible body forms around the host pipe while the EPDM gasket provides the sealing surface between the saddle and the prepared branch opening.

The VIPSeal VTS150 tee saddle uses 304 stainless-steel securing components. VIPSeal specifies 304 stainless steel for the shroud and end-clamp hardware. External straps pass around the main pipe to secure the saddle and gasket in position.
