Description

110mm Underground Drainage Double Socket Slip Coupler

This Kayflow slip coupler connects two plain-ended sections of 110mm underground drainage pipe. Its double socket design contains a push-fit seal at each end. Product code BUG12. Unlike a standard coupler, the slip design does not use a fixed central stop. Therefore, the fitting can slide farther along the pipe during installation. This makes it especially useful when repairing an existing drainage run where the surrounding pipes cannot move apart.

When Should You Use a Slip Coupler?

A standard coupler works well when installers can move the pipe ends during assembly. However, this is often difficult on an existing buried drainage run. A slip coupler provides a practical solution because it can move fully along one pipe end. For example, use this fitting when replacing a damaged section of 110mm pipe. First, slide the coupler onto the existing pipe. Next, position the replacement section. Then slide the coupler back across the joint. As a result, both seals sit across the connected pipe ends. The fitting also suits drainage alterations where access is limited. In addition, it can help join plain-ended pipes when a normal stopped coupler would prevent correct positioning.

Installing the 110mm Coupler

Make sure each pipe end is clean, square and free from damage. If you cut the pipe, chamfer and deburr the new end before fitting. Also, mark the intended socket depth on each pipe so you can centre the coupler over the finished joint. Apply a suitable drainage lubricant to the seals and pipe ends. Then slide the fitting into position without disturbing the sealing rings. Finally, check that the coupler sits evenly across both pipe ends. Browse the complete 110mm underground drainage range for compatible pipes, bends, junctions and access fittings. Kayflow lists BUG12 within its official 110mm underground drainage system.
