How Does an Air Admittance Valve Work?
An air admittance valve opens when negative pressure develops within the soil drainage system, allowing air to enter. When the pressure equalises, the valve closes to help prevent foul air from escaping through the valve. This makes air admittance valves useful in appropriately designed soil and waste installations where additional air admission is required.
Installation and Compatibility
The male finned connection is intended for insertion into suitable soil pipework. Before ordering, check the pipe connection dimensions and the installation requirements. For external installations, confirm that the valve’s specific external-use approval, positioning and environmental requirements are satisfied. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable drainage design requirements.
