Description
Competa CUG4BGBI Back Inlet Roddable Bottle Gully
The
Competa CUG4BGBI back inlet bottle gully is a practical 110mm underground drainage fitting designed to collect surface water and suitable external waste discharge while providing a trapped connection into the below-ground drainage system. This
110mm back inlet bottle gully also includes a rear inlet connection, providing additional flexibility when connecting suitable drainage or waste pipework. Designed as a
roddable bottle gully, the fitting provides access for cleaning and maintenance if debris collects within the gully or connected drainage system. The approximately
180mm bottle gully top provides a useful collection area, while the complete fitting forms part of a compatible
underground drainage bottle gully installation.
Competa CUG4BGBI Back Inlet Bottle Gully
The
Competa CUG4BGBI back inlet bottle gully combines a trapped underground drainage gully with an additional rear inlet connection. The back inlet makes the gully particularly useful where a secondary pipe needs to enter through the side of the fitting rather than discharging directly through the top grid. This can help create a neater external drainage layout around walls, rainwater pipes and suitable waste discharge points.

110mm Back Inlet Bottle Gully
The
110mm back inlet bottle gully is intended for connection into compatible 110mm underground drainage pipework. The rear inlet provides another route into the gully, allowing suitable pipework to connect without relying entirely on discharge through the top opening. Before completing the installation, make sure all incoming pipework is correctly aligned and supported so that unnecessary strain is not placed on the gully body or connections.
Roddable Bottle Gully
A
roddable bottle gully provides useful access to the drainage system for inspection, cleaning and maintenance. Leaves, silt and other debris can collect inside external gullies over time. Keeping the gully accessible allows accumulated material to be removed and provides improved access if the connected underground drainage requires attention. The top of the gully should therefore remain accessible after paving, concrete or landscaping has been completed.
180mm Bottle Gully
The
180mm bottle gully specification refers to the approximate diameter of the upper gully section recorded for this product. This gives the fitting a useful surface-water collection area while maintaining a compact footprint suitable for many domestic and trade drainage installations. Where the product is being used as a replacement for an existing gully, check the available installation space and surrounding finished level before ordering.
Underground Drainage Bottle Gully
An
underground drainage bottle gully creates a trapped connection between an external drainage point and the below-ground pipe system. The water retained within the trap helps separate the external opening from the underground drainage pipework while still allowing rainwater and suitable waste water to pass through the system.
Back Inlet Connection
The rear inlet can be used where suitable waste or drainage pipework needs to enter through the back of the gully. This arrangement is particularly useful where pipework runs along an external wall towards the drainage point or where a conventional top-only gully would result in a less tidy installation. Check the required connection arrangement before installation and make sure any incoming pipe is correctly supported.
Typical Applications
The CUG4BGBI bottle gully can be used within suitable external drainage installations including:
- Rainwater drainage points
- Patios
- Garden paving
- Yards
- External waste discharge points
- Domestic drainage systems
- Extensions and renovation projects
- Replacement bottle gully installations
- 110mm underground drainage systems
Surface Water Collection
The upper grid allows surface water to enter the bottle gully while helping to restrict larger leaves, stones and other debris from passing directly into the drainage system. Regularly remove debris from the grid so that water can continue to enter freely, particularly during autumn or where the gully is installed close to vegetation.
Cleaning and Rodding Access
Keep the gully accessible after installation so the grid and trapped section can be inspected and cleaned when required. Removing accumulated debris can help maintain water flow and reduce the likelihood of material travelling further into the underground drainage system. Where drainage access is required, the roddable design provides a useful maintenance point within the installation.
Installing the Back Inlet Bottle Gully
Establish the finished ground level, underground drainage route and required back inlet position before permanently installing the gully. The body should be securely supported and positioned so that the grid finishes at the required level while remaining accessible for maintenance. Connect the underground drainage and any required back inlet pipework before completing surrounding backfill or paving, then check the system for correct alignment and unrestricted flow.
Using a Bottle Gully Riser
If the gully needs to finish higher than the standard body allows, a compatible bottle gully riser or raising piece may be required. Our CUG4BGR bottle gully riser provides additional height for compatible installations where the gully body sits below the required finished paving or ground level.
