The Polydrain LFCD1000 channel drain is a compact 1 metre surface water drainage channel designed for domestic and light-duty applications. This 1m black channel drain combines a shallow 50mm profile with a black polypropylene heelguard grate and an A15 load-tested channel drainage system. The Low Flow channel drain is particularly useful where installation depth is restricted but an effective surface water drainage route is still required. As an A15 channel drain, it is suitable for appropriate pedestrian and domestic areas, while the compact 50mm channel drainage profile makes installation practical around patios, paths, garages and paved areas.

Polydrain LFCD1000 Channel Drain

The Polydrain LFCD1000 channel drain forms part of Polydrain’s 50mm Low Flow range and provides a shallow solution for collecting and directing surface water. The channel body and black polypropylene grate create a lightweight system that is easy to handle while still providing an A15-rated drainage solution when correctly installed.

1m Black Channel Drain

This 1m black channel drain is supplied as a 1000mm section. Multiple lengths can be clipped together to form a longer continuous drainage run where required. The black finish provides a discreet appearance alongside paving, paths and other domestic surfaces, while the heelguard grate helps provide a pedestrian-friendly drainage surface.

Low Flow Channel Drain

The Low Flow channel drain has an external height of only 50mm, making it particularly useful where excavation depth is restricted. Despite the shallow design, the system provides a dedicated route for collecting light surface water runoff from suitable patios, pathways, garage fronts and other domestic locations.

A15 Channel Drain

The A15 channel drain is load tested to A15 and manufactured to BS EN 1433 for appropriate light-duty drainage applications. Typical uses include pedestrian areas, patios and domestic locations. Correct installation and surrounding support are essential for the complete channel system to perform to its intended load classification.

50mm Channel Drainage

The compact 50mm channel drainage profile measures 50mm externally in height and 131mm across the channel. Polydrain publishes external dimensions of 1000 × 131 × 50mm and internal dimensions of approximately 1000 × 100 × 30mm for LFCD1000. This shallow profile can reduce excavation compared with deeper channel drainage systems and makes the Low Flow range particularly suitable for limited-dig installations.

Black Polypropylene Heelguard Grate

The LFCD1000 is supplied with a black polypropylene heelguard grate. The grate clips securely into the channel body and can be removed when access is required for cleaning or maintenance. The heelguard design provides smaller openings than many traditional channel grates, making it well suited to appropriate pedestrian areas.

Built-In 90 Degree Corner

The Low Flow channel incorporates built-in 90° corner connection slots, allowing compatible directional changes to be formed directly from the channel body. This removes the need for a separate quad box in suitable corner arrangements and can simplify the layout of domestic channel drainage runs.

Eight Vertical Outlet Positions

Each LFCD1000 channel provides a choice of eight vertical outlet locations. This gives installers flexibility when deciding where collected surface water should discharge beneath the channel. The required outlet position should be planned before the channel is permanently installed and connected to the appropriate outlet components and onward drainage system.

Installing the Low Flow Channel Drain

Plan the complete drainage route, outlet position and finished surface level before installation. Prepare a suitable supporting base and install each channel section so the top of the grate finishes at the required surface level. Clip additional channel lengths together where required and check the alignment of the complete run before completing the surrounding surface. If a shorter channel section is required, the body can be cut cleanly to length. Remove rough edges and make sure the shortened channel remains correctly supported.
