Description
110mm Double Socket Bend for Underground Drainage
The
double socket bend provides a 45° change of direction within compatible 110mm underground drainage systems. The Kayflow UG16 features push-fit ring-seal sockets at both ends, allowing compatible plain-ended drainage pipe or spigot-ended fittings to connect directly into either side. Its fixed 45° angle provides a practical directional change for foul water, surface water and general below-ground drainage installations. Manufactured from PVC-U, the fitting forms part of Kayflow’s lightweight and impact-resistant 110mm underground drainage system.

Where to Use the Double Socket Bend
Use this fitting where a 110mm underground drainage run requires a 45° change in direction. The bend can be incorporated into new systems or used when extending, repairing or altering existing drainage pipework. Typical applications include:
- Foul water drainage
- Surface water drainage
- Domestic underground drainage
- Commercial drainage installations
- Drainage extensions
- Drainage repairs and alterations
- General groundwork
- Changing underground pipe direction
45° Double Socket Bend Angle
The fixed 45° angle creates a more pronounced directional change than a 15° or 30° bend while remaining less severe than a 90° fitting. Where a larger change in direction is required, two suitable 45° bends can sometimes be used as part of the drainage layout rather than introducing a single sharp change in direction.
Double Socket Bend Connections
The UG16 has two socketed ends, with a push-fit ring-seal connection at each side. Both sockets accept compatible plain-ended 110mm underground drainage pipe or suitable spigot-ended fittings. The double socket arrangement makes the fitting straightforward to install between two plain pipe sections and can also be useful when modifying an existing drainage run.
Installing the Double Socket Bend
Before installation, check the required route, alignment and drainage fall. Where pipe is cut on site, make the cut square and remove burrs or sharp edges before making the connection. Inspect both socket seals and ensure they are clean and correctly seated. Remove soil, grit and other debris from the joints. Apply a suitable underground drainage lubricant where required. Align the pipe squarely with each socket and push the joint together without forcing the fitting sideways.
Supporting the Double Socket Bend
Provide suitable bedding beneath the fitting and connected underground drainage pipework. The bend should form part of a properly supported drainage system rather than carrying the weight of unsupported pipework. Maintain the required drainage gradient and inspect both connections before backfilling. Avoid placing sharp stones, rubble or other potentially damaging material directly against the fitting.
Double S Bend Material and System
The Kayflow UG16 is manufactured from PVC-U and forms part of Kayflow’s 110mm underground drainage system. Its lightweight construction helps make installation straightforward while the captive push-fit seals provide quick jointing. The fitting is designed for compatible gravity drainage and sewerage systems and is manufactured for use with recognised 110mm underground drainage pipework.
UG16 and BUG16 Double Socket Codes
UG16 is Kayflow’s individual 45° double socket bend and is the correct manufacturer code when selling one fitting.
BUG16 is Kayflow’s bulk-pack reference for 30 fittings and should not be used as the individual product MPN.
