The
access pipe provides a convenient inspection and maintenance point within compatible 110mm underground drainage systems. The Funke KGRR100 features a single socket connection, plain spigot end and rectangular side access opening for cleaning, inspection and drainage maintenance. Manufactured as part of the Funke COEX 2000 underground drainage range, this 110mm fitting is designed for below-ground drainage applications. Where to Use the Access Pipe
Use this fitting where future access to a 110mm underground drainage run is required for inspection, cleaning or maintenance. Typical applications include:
- Foul water drainage
- Surface water drainage
- Domestic underground drainage
- Drain cleaning access
- Drainage inspection access
- CCTV drainage inspection
- Drainage repairs and alterations
- New underground drainage installations
Rectangular Access Pipe Opening
The fitting incorporates a rectangular access opening on the side of the pipe body. This provides a larger maintenance opening than a simple removable pipe-end cap while allowing the drainage run itself to continue through the fitting. The cover should remain accessible after installation so it can be removed if future inspection or cleaning work is required.
Single Socket Access Pipe Connection
The KGRR100 has a single socket at one end and a plain spigot at the opposite end. This socket-and-spigot arrangement allows the fitting to be incorporated directly into compatible 110mm underground drainage pipework. The socket incorporates a sealing ring for a push-fit drainage connection.
Installing the Access Pipe
Plan the position of the access pipe before installation and make sure the rectangular inspection cover will remain accessible after the surrounding groundwork has been completed. Clean the pipe ends, socket and sealing ring before assembly. Remove soil, grit and other debris that could interfere with the joint. Apply a suitable underground drainage lubricant where required and align the pipe squarely with the socket before pushing the connection together.
Supporting the Access Pipe
Provide suitable bedding beneath the access pipe and surrounding underground drainage pipework. The fitting should form part of a correctly supported drainage run rather than carrying the weight of unsupported pipes. Maintain the required drainage fall and inspect the joints before backfilling. Avoid placing sharp stones or rubble directly against the fitting or access cover.
Maintaining the Pipe
Keep the rectangular access cover clear and reachable for future maintenance. If the cover is removed, clean the opening and sealing surfaces before refitting it securely. Use suitable drainage cleaning or inspection equipment and avoid excessive force that could damage the fitting or surrounding pipework.
