110mm Rectangular Hopper for Underground Drainage
The
rectangular hopper provides a practical inlet point for compatible 110mm underground drainage systems. The Kayflow UG104 includes a rectangular hopper body, removable grid and a 110mm spigot connection for fitting into a compatible socketed drainage fitting or gully. Two closed side bosses allow additional waste-pipe connections to be added when required. The bosses remain sealed until needed, helping installers configure the hopper to suit the drainage layout on site.

Where to Use the Rectangular Hopper
Use this fitting where rainwater, surface water or suitable external waste discharge needs to enter an underground drainage system. It is commonly installed close to walls, rainwater downpipes and external waste outlets. The larger rectangular inlet gives water a clear route into the drainage system, while the grid helps prevent larger leaves, stones and debris from entering the pipework. Rectangular Hopper with Two Side Bosses
The UG104 has two closed side bosses. These allow compatible waste pipes to connect into the hopper below ground level when the drainage design requires additional inlets. Leave unused bosses closed. Where a connection is required, open the appropriate boss carefully with a suitable hole cutter and install the correct boss adaptor for the waste pipe being connected. Do not cut both bosses automatically. Only open the connections required for the installation so unused inlets remain sealed.
Installing the Rectangular Hopper
The hopper has a 110mm downward-facing spigot. Therefore, it push-fits into a compatible 110mm ring-seal socket, such as a suitable underground drainage fitting or socketed P-trap gully. First, inspect the receiving socket and sealing ring. Remove soil, grit and other debris that could affect the connection. Next, clean the hopper spigot and apply a suitable silicone drainage lubricant where required. Align the spigot squarely with the socket and push the connection together without forcing it at an angle.
Supporting the Hopper
Support the hopper and connected drainage components correctly during installation. The fitting should not carry the weight of unsupported pipework or waste pipes connected through the side bosses. Maintain the required drainage fall and check all connections before completing the surrounding groundwork. In addition, keep sharp stones and construction debris away from the plastic fitting.
Maintaining the Rectangular Hopper
The removable grid allows the hopper to be cleaned when leaves, soil or other debris collect around the inlet. Check the grid periodically, particularly during autumn or where the hopper is positioned close to trees and vegetation. Lift the grid when required and remove debris from inside the hopper. Once clean, replace the grid securely and make sure the water inlet remains unobstructed.
