Description
110mm Access Cap for Underground Drainage
The
access cap provides a removable maintenance point within compatible 110mm underground drainage systems. The Tetraflow TPL40505 features a spigot-ended connection with a large screwed access cover, allowing the drainage run to be opened when inspection, cleaning or rodding access is required. The terracotta underground drainage fitting is designed to connect into a compatible 110mm drainage socket. Its removable screw cap makes it useful where future access to the pipework needs to remain available without dismantling surrounding drainage fittings.

Where to Use the Access Cap
Use this fitting where a 110mm underground drainage run needs an accessible termination or maintenance point. The screwed cover can be removed when access to the inside of the drainage pipe is required. Typical applications include:
- Drainage inspection points
- Rodding access
- Drain cleaning access
- Camera inspection access
- End-of-run drainage access
- Domestic underground drainage
- Drainage repairs and alterations
- New below-ground drainage installations
Screwed Access Cap Design
The removable top allows the fitting to remain closed during normal use while retaining access to the drainage system for future maintenance. When access is required, unscrew the cover carefully and use suitable drainage inspection or cleaning equipment. Once work has been completed, clean the cap and sealing surfaces before refitting the cover securely.
Access Cap Spigot Connection
The lower section of the fitting is spigot ended and is designed to enter a compatible 110mm underground drainage socket. Before installation, inspect the receiving socket and sealing ring. Remove soil, grit and other debris that could interfere with the push-fit connection.
Installing the Access Cap
Position the fitting where the screwed cover will remain accessible after the surrounding drainage installation has been completed. Clean the spigot and receiving socket before assembly. Apply a suitable underground drainage lubricant where required and align the spigot squarely with the socket before pushing the connection together. Avoid forcing the fitting sideways during installation because this may disturb the socket seal.
Supporting the Access Cap
Provide suitable support to the fitting and surrounding drainage pipework. The access cap should form part of a correctly supported underground drainage system rather than carrying the weight of unsupported pipe. Make sure the cover remains accessible and is not permanently buried beneath concrete, paving or other structures where future drainage access is required.
Maintaining the Cap
Keep the screwed cover and surrounding area clear of soil and debris. Periodically check that the access point remains usable, particularly where landscaping or other groundworks take place around the drainage installation. If the cover is removed for maintenance, inspect the fitting before refitting it and make sure the cap is correctly seated.
