Description
110mm Long Radius Bend for Underground Drainage
The
110mm long radius bend creates a smooth 90° change of direction in underground drainage pipework. Its wider curved profile provides a less abrupt turn than a standard tight bend, making it useful where the drainage layout needs a sweeping change of direction. This Kayflow fitting has plain ends rather than built-in ring-seal sockets. Therefore, each end must connect to a compatible 110mm socketed pipe, fitting or double socket coupler. The plain-ended design also gives installers flexibility when positioning the bend within a new drainage run or repair.
Where to Use a 110mm Long Radius Bend
Use this fitting in non-pressure underground drainage systems that carry foul water or surface water. It suits domestic, commercial and general groundwork projects, including new installations, drainage alterations and repairs. The long radius profile makes the bend particularly useful where space allows a wider turn. For example, it can redirect a horizontal drainage run around an obstruction or connect two sections of pipework positioned at a 90° angle.

Connecting the Plain-Ended Drainage Bend
First, plan the drainage route and confirm that the wider radius will fit within the available space. Next, check the pipe levels and required fall before cutting or assembling the surrounding pipework. Both ends of this bend are plain. As a result, installers normally connect them using compatible double socket couplers, slip couplers or socketed underground drainage fittings. Check that every socket contains the correct sealing ring before making the joint. Clean all jointing surfaces and remove dirt, grit and loose material. Then apply a suitable silicone drainage lubricant to the sealing rings and prepared pipe ends. Align each connection carefully and push the joint together without forcing it at an angle.
Installing the 90° Underground Drainage Bend
Bed and support the bend correctly so the surrounding pipework does not place strain on the joints. In addition, maintain the specified drainage fall throughout the run. Inspect every connection before surrounding the fitting with suitable bedding material and completing the backfill. Browse the complete
