Description
The
VIPSeal VECR115 end cap is a flexible
105-115mm flexible end cap designed to close compatible pipe ends securely. Commonly used as a
110mm drainage pipe cap, this
EPDM pipe end cap can also be used as a
temporary drainage pipe cap to help prevent dirt and debris entering open pipework during installation, maintenance or repair work. VIPSeal manufactures the VECR115 for pipes with an outside diameter from 105mm to 115mm. The flexible EPDM body fits over the outside of the pipe and is secured using the supplied 304 stainless-steel tension band.
VIPSeal VECR115 End Cap
The
VIPSeal VECR115 end cap is the genuine 105–115mm model within VIPSeal’s VECR flexible end-cap range. The
VIPSeal VECR115 end cap can be used on compatible pipes of different materials, provided the actual pipe outside diameter falls within the stated 105–115mm range.
Choosing the VIPSeal VECR115 End Cap
Before ordering the
VIPSeal VECR115 end cap, measure or confirm the outside diameter of the pipe. VIPSeal specifies VECR115 for pipe O/Ds between 105mm and 115mm.
105-115mm Flexible End Cap
The
105-115mm flexible end cap provides a useful alternative to a rigid system-specific cap. Its flexible construction allows the fitting to accommodate compatible pipes across the full stated outside-diameter range. This makes the
105-115mm flexible end cap useful for drainage repairs, alterations, maintenance work and temporary site protection.
Installing a 105-115mm Flexible End Cap
Before fitting the
105-115mm flexible end cap, clean the outside of the pipe and remove dirt, grit and loose material. Push the cap fully over the pipe end and position the tension band evenly. VIPSeal specifies a tightening torque of
6Nm for VECR115.
110mm Drainage Pipe Cap
VECR115 is commonly suitable for use as a
110mm drainage pipe cap because standard 110mm PVC-U drainage pipe falls within the manufacturer’s compatible application range. A
110mm drainage pipe cap can be useful where a drainage run needs to be temporarily protected, permanently closed or retained as a removable clean-out point.
110mm Drainage Pipe Cap Applications
The
110mm drainage pipe cap can be used for compatible underground drainage, soil and other low-pressure pipe installations where the pipe outside diameter falls within the 105–115mm range.
EPDM Pipe End Cap
VIPSeal manufactures VECR115 as an
EPDM pipe end cap. EPDM provides the flexibility required for the cap to conform around compatible pipework while being secured by the stainless-steel tension band. The standard
EPDM pipe end cap is supplied with a 304 stainless-steel band. VIPSeal also offers alternative nitrile and 316 stainless-steel configurations for specialist environments, but these are separate ordering options.
EPDM Pipe End Cap Performance
VIPSeal specifies a constant working temperature range of
-50°C to +60°C and a pressure rating of
0.6 bar / 8.70psi for the VECR end-cap range.
Temporary Drainage Pipe Cap
The VECR115 can be used as a
temporary drainage pipe cap during installation, construction or maintenance work to help prevent soil, rubble and other debris entering an open pipe end. A
temporary drainage pipe cap can later be removed when the pipe is ready to be extended, connected or brought back into service.
Permanent or Temporary Drainage Pipe Cap
VIPSeal also describes the VECR range as suitable for permanent clean-outs. This means the product can provide either a removable
temporary drainage pipe cap or a longer-term closure where appropriate.
Compatible Pipe Applications
VIPSeal’s current datasheet lists common VECR115 applications including:

The fitting is selected by actual pipe outside diameter, so compatibility should always be checked against the 105–115mm range rather than nominal pipe size alone.
304 Stainless-Steel Tension Band
The standard VECR115 is supplied with a 304 stainless-steel tension band. The band is tightened around the EPDM cap to secure the fitting to the outside of the pipe. VIPSeal specifies a tightening torque of
6Nm for this size.
