Description
Temporary Pipe Cap for 110mm Underground Drainage
The
temporary pipe cap protects the open end of compatible 110mm underground drainage pipe during installation, repair, storage and general site work. Its bright yellow finish makes the capped pipe easy to identify, while the one-piece plastic construction helps prevent soil, rubble, leaves and other loose material from entering the pipe. This Competa Drainage cap fits over a compatible 110mm plain pipe end. Internal ribs help the cap grip the pipe securely while still allowing installers to remove it when the drainage connection is ready to be completed.

Where to Use a 110mm Temporary Pipe Cap
Use this cap while an underground drainage installation remains incomplete or when a pipe needs temporary protection during alterations. It is useful for groundworkers, builders, drainage installers, landscapers and other trades working with 110mm pipework. Typical applications include:
- Protecting open drainage pipes during building work
- Temporarily covering pipework before the next fitting is installed
- Keeping stored pipe ends clean before installation
- Protecting pipes during drainage repairs and alterations
- Reducing the risk of soil, mortar and rubble entering a drain run
- Identifying open pipe positions clearly on site
Check the Pipe End Before Installation
This cap is designed around a 110mm plain pipe end. Before fitting it, check that the pipe is compatible and that the outside surface remains reasonably circular and undamaged. Do not assume the cap will fit over an enlarged socket or fitting collar. These components normally have a larger external diameter than plain 110mm pipe. Measure the exact section being covered when compatibility is uncertain.
How to Fit the Temporary Pipe Cap
First, clean the pipe end and remove soil, grit, burrs and loose material. Next, align the cap squarely with the pipe. Push it over the end until the internal ribs grip securely and the cap sits evenly. Check the cap periodically when work continues around the pipe. Heavy machinery, displaced soil or impact from tools can disturb temporary protection products. To remove the cap, pull it away from the pipe carefully without damaging the pipe edge. Clean the pipe end again before fitting the permanent socket, coupling or drainage connection.
Temporary Protection Only
This product is a temporary pipe protection cap. It is not a permanent drainage end cap, pressure-testing plug or certified watertight termination. Remove it before commissioning the drainage system or completing the final connection. Do not use the cap to retain water, sewage, compressed air or pressure. Choose a compatible permanent blanking cap or socket plug when the drainage pipe needs to remain permanently closed.
