Description
110mm Double Socket Bend for Underground Drainage
The
double socket bend provides a 30° change of direction within compatible 110mm underground drainage systems. The Kayflow UG18 features push-fit ring-seal sockets at both ends, allowing compatible plain-ended drainage pipe or spigot-ended fittings to connect directly into either side. This fixed 30° bend is ideal where a more noticeable directional change is required than a 15° fitting while still maintaining a smoother route than a sharper 45° or 90° bend.
Double Socket Bend Features
- 110mm / 4-inch nominal drainage size
- 30° fixed bend angle
- Double socket configuration
- Two push-fit ring-seal sockets
- EPDM rubber sealing rings
- PVC-U construction
- Terracotta underground drainage finish
- Durable and impact-resistant design
- Lightweight and easy to install
- Suitable for gravity drainage and sewerage systems
- Compatible with common 110mm underground drainage systems
- Kayflow manufacturer code UG18
Where to Use the Double Socket Bend
Use this fitting where a 110mm underground drainage run requires a 30° change in direction. The bend can be incorporated into foul water, surface water and general underground drainage installations. Typical applications include:
- Foul water drainage
- Surface water drainage
- Domestic underground drainage
- Drainage extensions
- Drainage repairs and alterations
- New groundwork installations
- Changing pipe alignment
30° Double Socket Bend Angle
The 30° fixed angle provides a useful intermediate directional change between Kayflow’s 15° and 45° underground drainage bends. It is particularly useful when the pipe route needs to be redirected without introducing a much sharper corner into the drainage system.
Double Socket Bend Connections
The UG18 has two socketed ends, each incorporating a captive push-fit sealing ring. Both sockets accept compatible plain-ended 110mm underground drainage pipe or suitable spigot-ended fittings. The double socket configuration makes the fitting straightforward to incorporate between two plain pipe sections or compatible fittings.
Installing the Double Socket Bend
Before installation, check the drainage route, alignment and required fall. Pipe ends should be cut square where necessary and sharp edges or burrs removed. Inspect both socket seals and make sure they are correctly positioned. Remove soil, grit or other debris before making the joints. Apply a suitable underground drainage lubricant where required. Align each pipe squarely with the socket and push the connection together without forcing it sideways.
Supporting the Double Socket Bend
Provide suitable bedding beneath the fitting and surrounding underground drainage pipework. The bend should form part of a correctly supported drainage system rather than carrying the weight of unsupported pipe. Maintain the required drainage gradient and inspect both ring-seal joints before backfilling. Avoid placing sharp stones or rubble directly against the fitting.
Double S Bend Material and Seals
The Kayflow UG18 is manufactured from PVC-U and uses captive push-fit EPDM rubber sealing rings at both socket connections. Kayflow’s 110mm underground drainage fittings are designed as lightweight, durable and impact-resistant components suitable for common domestic and commercial gravity drainage systems.
UG18 and BUG18 Double Socket Codes
UG18 is Kayflow’s individual 30° double socket bend and is the correct manufacturer code when selling one fitting.
BUG18 is the bulk-pack reference for 40 bends and should not be used as the individual product MPN.
