Description
110mm Single Socket Bend for Underground Drainage
The
single socket bend provides a 45° change of direction within compatible 110mm underground drainage systems. The Kayflow UG24 features one push-fit ring-seal socket and one chamfered plain spigot end, allowing straightforward connection with compatible 110mm pipes and fittings. Where to Use the Single Socket Bend
Use this fitting where a 110mm underground drainage run requires a 45° change in direction. It can be incorporated into new drainage systems or used when altering, repairing or extending existing pipework. Typical applications include:
- Foul water drainage
- Surface water drainage
- Domestic underground drainage
- Inspection chamber connections
- Gully connections
- Drainage branches
- Drainage repairs and alterations
- New groundwork installations
45° Single Socket Bend Angle
The 45° angle provides a more pronounced change of direction than a 15° or 30° bend while remaining smoother than a sharper 90° turn. This makes the fitting useful for redirecting underground pipework around obstructions or bringing separate sections of a drainage run into alignment.
Single Socket Bend Connections
The UG24 has one socketed end containing a captive push-fit ring seal and one chamfered plain spigot end. The socket accepts compatible plain-ended 110mm drainage pipe or a suitable spigot-ended fitting. The opposite plain end inserts directly into another compatible 110mm drainage socket.
Installing the Single Socket Bend
Check the drainage route, alignment and required fall before installation. Where pipe is cut on site, make the cut square and remove any sharp burrs. Inspect the socket and sealing ring before assembly. Remove soil, grit and other debris and make sure the seal remains correctly seated. Apply a suitable underground drainage lubricant where required. Align the pipe squarely with the socket and push the connection together without forcing the fitting sideways.
Supporting the Single Socket Bend
Provide suitable bedding beneath the bend and surrounding pipework. The fitting should form part of a correctly supported drainage run rather than carrying the weight of unsupported pipes. Maintain the required drainage gradient and inspect the joint before backfilling. Avoid placing sharp stones or rubble directly against the fitting.
Single S Bend Material and System
The Kayflow UG24 is manufactured from PVC-U and forms part of Kayflow’s lightweight and durable 110mm underground drainage system. Its socket incorporates a push-fit ring seal while the opposite end is pre-chamfered for straightforward insertion into another compatible drainage socket.
UG24 and BUG24 Single Socket Codes
UG24 is Kayflow’s individual 45° single socket bend and is the correct manufacturer code when selling one fitting.
BUG24 is Kayflow’s bulk-pack reference for 30 fittings and should not be used as the individual product MPN.
