The Carbery range of bunded oil tanks offer a ‘tank within a tank’ – the inner tank holds the fuel, while the outer guards against a pollution incident in the event of a fuel spill.

In the UK and Ireland, bunded fuel tanks are a requirement at all commercial, industrial and institutional installations. They are also required for some domestic and agricultural installations.

For example, a bunded tank is required if your domestic or residential property is in Wales, holds more than 2,500 litres, is located within 10m of controlled water such as a river or stream, or in a position where a fuel spill could travel across hard ground to reach controlled water.

Other scenarios in which a bunded tank would be essential include: if your fuel tank is located near an open drain or loose fitting manhole, or within 50m of a borehole, spring or well, or if the oil is to be used by any building other than a single family dwelling.

All non-domestic oil tanks over 200 litres need to be bunded.
